New for 2013. We will hold qualifying for Club Championship between Tuesday June 25th and Wednesday July 3rd. All qualifying rounds for the club championship MUST be played during that timeframe.
The Club Championship is the final and flagship tournament for the Hanover Country Club. This tournament crowns the members who play the best golf during the height of the golf season.
The 2013 tournament will culminate on August 3rd and 4th , with preliminary matches played in the weeks leading up to the final weekend. Preliminary matches will be scheduled by the players at mutually convenient times.
All levels of golfers are encouraged to play, as you compete with others at the same handicap level.
The Club Championship is a match play, single elimination format. If you win your match, you continue on to the next round. If you lose, you are done. The exception to this is that if you lose your first match, you can continue on in the consolation bracket.
In the Men's Championship the top 16 players will compete in the championship flight, and will play straight up (without handicaps). The next 16 players will also play without handicaps in flight one. All other flights will utilize 80% of their handicap.
In the Women's Championship, the winners of the 1st round continue in the Championship Flight and play straight up. The losers are placed in the First Flight and play with 80% of their handicap.
We also have Senior Gross Championship (green tees), ages 55 and up, Senior Net Championship (blue tees), ages 55 and up, and Super Senior Net Championship (gold tees), ages 65 and up.
We encourage all HCC members to participate in The Club Championship.
